About

Deen Ball Sports, Inc.

Provides leadership and organized recreational programs for over hundreds youth annually, ages 4 to 18 years old.
Formally known as the “Aberdeen Athletic Association, Inc.”.

In April 1960, a group of fathers got together to form athletic teams for youth in the Aberdeen Community. Their objectives were to, not only give idle children a chance to be in organized recreational programs, but to also provide all of the equipment the kids would need to participate. The name of that dedicated group was the Aberdeen Fathers Club. Their programs, which included football, cheerleading, girls’ softball and basketball, flourished until the 1970’s, when suddenly the program faded away

In 1982, the Aberdeen Athletic Association, Inc. was born due to a lack of and a need for youth to be active again in the community. The AAA, Inc. took on the same pledge as the Father’s Club; to organize teams, supply equipment and uniforms and to continue to stress the importance of being a “Student Athlete”. The spirit of volunteering has produced many of our coaches, which were former players.  Also parents who participated as kids, now have their own kids in the program.

In 2007, the AAA, Inc. began doing business as Deen Ball Sports, Inc. a 501c (3) organization. As we approach the future, the plan is to use the designation to continue to do more things to initiate other programs that will benefit our kids.
